Yamazaki 12 Years is a Japanese single malt whisky matured for 12 years in American oak, Spanish oak and Japanese Mizunara oak casks. It comes from Yamazaki, founded by Shinjiro Torii in 1923 in a valley near Kyoto, at the foot of Mount Tennozan.
The nose is sweet and warm, with coconut and butter. On the palate come spicy, slightly fresh hints of cranberry, clove and vanilla, followed by a lasting finish of ginger and cinnamon.
