This is Yamazaki 18 Year Old Mizunara Cask, a Japanese single malt made to mark 100 years of Suntory whisky making. It was matured for a minimum of 18 years exclusively in Japanese Mizunara oak casks, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers dark cherry and ripe peach with cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate there is candied orange and gentle spice alongside the aroma of Japanese incense. The finish is very long, with clove, sandalwood, dried coconut and lingering oak.
