Yamazaki 18 Year Old is a Japanese single malt from the Yamazaki distillery, established in 1923, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It spends eighteen years maturing in a combination of American bourbon casks, Spanish sherry casks and Japanese mizunara oak casks.
The nose brings dried fruit, raisins, chocolate, sandalwood and oriental spices. The palate has caramel, vanilla, candied fruit, cinnamon and clove with a little smoke. The finish is long and warming, with spice, dried fruit and a dry close with hints of mizunara wood.
