Yamazaki – Golden Promise Tsukuriwake (70cl, 48%)

This is a special bottling of Yamazaki single malt, bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is made with Golden Promise barley, a variety traditionally grown in Scotland, so Japanese distillation is paired with Scottish malt. The whisky matured in a mix of oak casks, including American white oak and Japanese Mizunara. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. Yamazaki was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii. The nose offers apple and pear with soft malt and honey. The palate is full-bodied, balancing sweet caramel and vanilla with a touch of spice, and the finish is long and warm with a fine spiciness.
