Yamazaki Smoky Batch 'The First' is a limited-edition Japanese single malt from the Yamazaki Distillery, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It pairs the fruit character associated with Yamazaki with what is described as a Japanese-style gentle smokiness. Golden in colour, it shows pineapple and honey on the nose, with the slightly smoky aroma of glowing embers. The palate is sweetly fruity, with a gentle smokiness that spreads slowly. The finish is faintly woody and peaty, and lingers.
