Yamazaki – Story of the Distillery 2025 Edition (70cl, 43%)

Yamazaki Story of the Distillery is a single malt from Japan's first malt whisky distillery, in its 2025 edition. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, and the label shows the distillery's historic drying tower. The release pays tribute to the roots of Japanese whisky and to the founder, Shinjiro Torii. The whisky is a marriage of malts aged in Mizunara and Spanish oak casks, and it builds on the richness of the previous edition with more spice, fruit and gentle smoke. The nose offers dried persimmon, clove, vanilla and fine chocolate over floral malt. On the palate come orange marmalade, dried red fruit and the sweetness of red bean paste. The finish brings subtle smoke, baking spice and dark chocolate.
