Yamazakura Asaka 2024 Edition is a Japanese single malt from Asaka Distillery, part of Sasanokawa Shuzo. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It is a vatting of several cask-aged malts, made from Asaka's non-peated malt blended with select peated whiskies, and it won a Gold Medal at the 2025 Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition.
The nose is pongashi (puffed rice snacks), honey with lemon and bright citrus acidity. The palate brings dried plum, lime and light cider. The finish is lingering and sweet, with a touch of peat and a clean, crisp close.
