This is a single cask Japanese single malt from Asaka Distillery, part of Sasanokawa Shuzo, bottled at a cask strength of 61% in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit was filled into a first-fill bourbon barrel in January 2019 and stayed there for two years. It then moved to a second-fill Petit Verdot cask from a Napa Valley winery in the USA, where it spent a further two and a half years, until November 2021. It was bottled in October 2024, with 96 bottles released.
It is described as a Genshu Ji-whisky, a term for a small-scale, locally made style of release.
