Yamazakura Single Cask is a Japanese single malt from the Asaka distillery, founded in 2016 in the Fukushima region. The distillery presented its first single malt in 2019. This edition is in a 70cl bottle at 60% ABV.
It comes from a single bourbon cask in which the whisky rested for 3 years, and is neither coloured nor chill-filtered.
The nose offers yellow fruit, honey and vanilla. These carry on to the palate, joined by candied orange and brioche. The finish fades slowly to malted cereals and dried fruits.
