Yellow Spot 12 Year Old Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

Yellow Spot 12 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey bottled at 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It combines pot still whiskies matured in three kinds of cask: American bourbon casks, Spanish sherry butts and Spanish Malaga casks. The sherry and Malaga casks follow Mitchell's tradition of importing fortified wines. Malaga is an unusual choice for whisky, and that component is matured for the full term rather than finished, which gives a richer, sweeter flavour. The nose is woody, with caramel, vanilla, honeysuckle, apricot, peach and wood spice. The palate is spicy and oily, with clove and black pepper, and the finish is medium-long with cinnamon, nutmeg and dried apricot.
