Yoichi 10 Year Old is a Japanese whisky from Nikka's distillery at Yoichi on Hokkaido, where the stills are heated by coal. It is bottled at 45% ABV and returned in 2022 after several years away.
It is round and generous, and keeps the distillery's light peat and maritime character.
The nose offers pear, baked apple and vanilla, with soft smoke and a note of cut grass. The palate is round and oily, with malt, honey, wood and discreet peat. The finish is medium to long, with spice, salt and smoke.
