Yoichi 15 Years Old is a Japanese single malt from Nikka, bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured for 15 years in American oak and possibly sherry casks.
The nose has dried figs and raisins, honey and vanilla, with smoke and subtle spice. The palate is full-bodied and creamy, with fruit, sweet malt and oak, layers of spice and a hint of peat. The finish is long and warming, with lingering fruit, honey and gentle smokiness, which reflects the distillery's coal-fired production.
