Yoichi – Discovery Non Peated (70cl, 47%)

A single malt from Nikka's Yoichi distillery in Japan, bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle. It is made without peat, and it comes from an outturn of 4812 bottles. Yoichi is often thought of as a smoky malt, but this version takes a malty, fruity and spicy direction instead. The nose combines malted barley, green banana, golden apple and acacia honey with pineapple, coriander, ginger and black pepper. Citrus leads on the palate, followed by lightly roasted vanilla and a sweet and salty balance. The finish is long, with star anise and coconut milk.
