Yoichi – Non-Peated Single Malt Nikka Discovery (70cl, 47%)

Yoichi Non-Peated is a Japanese single malt from Nikka, part of the Nikka Discovery series of experimental expressions. It is made entirely from unpeated malt and focuses on the variety of stills at the distillery. It was bottled in 2021 at 47% in a 70cl bottle. The nose combines fruit and acacia honey over malted barley, then turns spicy and herbal with medicinal notes. The palate is lively, with citrus, vanilla and toasted notes, balanced between sweet and salty, ending in a pleasant bitterness. The finish is long, with malted barley, aniseed, nuts and juicy fruit.
