An Austrian alpine liqueur made from fresh, young Arolla stone pine cones harvested high in the Alps. The pine fruit is macerated in neutral grain spirit, with sugar added to balance the resinous notes; no added colouring is used.
The nose shows resinous pine sap, crushed pine needles, red berry or pine fruit hints, forest floor, herbal undertones and citrus peel. The palate has a pronounced pine and resin backbone, juniper or spruce tip character, woody spices, underlying sweetness and touches of lemon peel, rosemary and mint. The finish lingers with pine resin, herbal bitterness, cooling menthol or eucalyptus and a dry forest nuance.
