This is a 2016 single malt from Glasgow Distillery, finished in virgin oak and bottled in 2023 at a cask strength of 55.8%. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit was double distilled in copper pot stills and first matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, then finished in virgin oak, giving seven years of maturation in all. The 1770 name refers to the year Glasgow's original distillery was established.
The nose offers vanilla, honeyed orchard fruits and toasted oak. The palate is robust, with butterscotch, dark chocolate and warm spices, and the finish is long, with oak spice and a dry close.
