1770 Glasgow Single Malt, the 2019 release, was bottled in 2019 at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was made within Glasgow's city limits, the first single malt produced there since the original distillery closed in the early twentieth century.
The barley is 100% Scottish and the spirit was double distilled in copper pot stills built for the distillery. It matured in first-fill ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks, and it is bottled without chill filtration and with natural colour.
The nose is fresh orchard fruit, green apple and pear with vanilla toffee and cereal. The palate shows ripe pear, spiced biscuits, vanilla custard and caramel, and the finish is medium to long, with butterscotch and warm spices.
