1770 Glasgow Single Malt Release No. 1 is the first release from Glasgow Distillery, bottled in 2018 at 46% in a 50cl bottle. It marks the first whisky produced in the city in over a century. The malt is double distilled in copper pot stills and matured first in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks, then finished in virgin oak. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose is fresh orchard fruit, vanilla toffee and a little cedar. The palate brings ripe pear, butterscotch and warm spice of cinnamon and clove. The finish is long, clean and slightly dry, with oak spice and gentle warmth.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
