1845 Preemption is a Texas straight bourbon from 1845 Distilling Co., made from four grains and bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) in a 70cl bottle. It is aged for at least three years.
The mash bill is 64% corn, with 12% each of rye, wheat and barley.
The nose brings vanilla pods, oak on a Texas flower meadow and buttered corn. Dark cherries with honey lead the palate, alongside black tea, chocolate and baking spices, and the finish is lingering with rounded oak.
