Bulleit – Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon 7 Year Old (50%)

A seven-year-old Bottled-in-Bond bourbon, distilled in spring 2017 and bottled at 100 proof, or 50% ABV. It is the first Bulleit bourbon distilled and aged entirely at the brand's own distillery in Shelbyville under the Bottled-in-Bond standards. Those standards call for a single distiller, one distilling season, at least four years in a bonded warehouse and bottling at 100 proof. The high-rye recipe shows in the black pepper on the palate. The nose is spicy and fruity, with toasted oak, maple and nutmeg. The palate has brown sugar, caramel, butterscotch and a little dark fruit alongside baking spices, with a rich, full body. The finish is smooth and persistent, with butterscotch, oak char and rye spice.
