36 Short – Single Malt (50cl, 45%)

36 Short is an Australian single malt whisky, made from Australian malted barley and water from the aquifer beneath the distillery. It is distilled in a 1200 litre copper pot still called Pando and bottled at 45% in a 50cl bottle. The spirit goes first into locally sourced shaven and charred American oak barrels, then rests in Kentucky bourbon barrels, and finishes its maturation in Shiraz barrels. The nose is sweet and fruity, with lime marmalade, fresh pine and tropical fruit. The palate shows dried fruit and vanilla bean, and the long finish carries dried mixed fruit, apricot and peach.
