A.D. Laws San Luis Valley Straight Rye is a Colorado straight rye whiskey bottled at 47.5% in a 750ml bottle. It is made by Laws Whiskey House in Denver.
The rye is a heirloom grain grown on the Cody family farm in the San Luis Valley, at roughly 8,000 feet above sea level. The whiskey is distilled and aged in Denver for a minimum of three years.
The nose is floral and perfumed, with baking spice, orange oil, rye bread and anise. The palate brings salted toffee, stewed fig, black tea, sweet mint and orange peel. The finish carries green peppercorn spice, with faint mint and dried citrus peel.
