Aberfeldy 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. It is matured for 12 years in a mix of ex-bourbon and sherry casks.
The distillery was founded in 1898 by the Dewar family. It draws on the Pitilie Burn, a stream known for its gold deposits, which gave Aberfeldy its nickname, The Golden Dram.
The nose is soft orchard fruit, heather honey, a little spice and creamy vanilla. On the palate there is honeyed malt, baked apple, toasted cereal, oak and cinnamon, and the finish carries honeycomb, citrus zest and a touch of spice.
