A 16 year old Aberfeldy single malt matured first in a mix of first-fill, re-fill and re-char bourbon casks. It then spent a final six months in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks.
Honey, fruitcake and dark chocolate run through it, and the finish is rich and lingers on the palate.
The palate is sherried and full, much like fruitcake, with dabs of dark chocolate. The finish is soothing, rich and mouth-coating.
