Aberlour 12 Year Old Non Chill-Filtered is a Speyside single malt from the Aberlour Distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV. It is bottled without chill-filtration.
The whisky is matured for at least twelve years in ex-Bourbon barrels and ex-Sherry butts, the former giving vanilla sweetness and the latter dark fruit.
The nose is rich sherry and dried raisins over vanilla and malt, with nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate is viscous and oily, with dark chocolate, toffee and candied orange peel. The finish is long and warming, with sweet oak, ground pepper and dark fruit.
