Aberlour 18 Years Old is a Speyside single malt in a 50cl bottle, bottled at 43% ABV. It is made with local barley and soft water from Ben Rinnes. A deeper sherry influence brings extra spice and a liquorice tang, while the greater age adds body and a fruitiness that develops into a rich raisin character.
The nose combines toffee and butterscotch with ripe peach and bitter orange. On the palate, soft apricot and cream give way to blackcurrant jam, sweet oak and a touch of honey. The finish is very long and balanced, moving from crème brûlée to a gentle oak note.
