Adelphi Lochlea 2018 7 Year Old Cask #113 First Fill Bourbon Barrel (70cl, 57.9%)

Adelphi Lochlea 2018 is a seven-year-old Lowland single malt from cask #113, a first fill bourbon barrel that yielded 222 bottles. It was distilled in 2018, Lochlea's first year of production, and bottled in 2026 at 57.9%. Lochlea released its first single malt in October 2021, so this cask follows the distillery from its earliest days. The nose is of meringue, lemon zest, pear pastry, butter, clean laundry, pecan pastry and flaked almonds. The palate is tart, with lime juice, nougat, white grapefruit, coconut biscuits, vanilla custard and bitter lemon. The finish is medium, drying and biscuity, with honeyed oats.
