Adelphi Lochlea 5 Year Old Single Cask 59.2% (59.2%)

This is a single cask Lochlea bottled by Adelphi at 5 years old and 59.2%. The whisky was distilled in 2018 and matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel, producing 265 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. Lochlea is a family-owned distillery in Ayrshire that grows its own barley. The nose is fresh and fruity, with hay, pear, beeswax and pecan, plus hints of cream soda and white pepper. The palate is rich and full, with balanced fruit and spice, vanilla, honey and oak. The finish is long, with sweetness and spice fading slowly, subtle oak and a touch of pepper.
