Adelphi St Kilian 2017 6 Year Old Cask #5161 Moscatel Wine Butt (70cl, 59.7%)

This is a St Kilian single malt bottled by Adelphi at 6 years old, in a 70cl bottle at 59.7%. It is an unpeated German whisky, distilled in Bavaria in 2017 and bottled in 2026 from cask #5161, a Moscatel wine butt that produced 694 bottles. The Moscatel brings orange blossom, honey and apricot, then dried fruit and burnt orange. The nose is floral and fruity, with orange blossom, Dr Pepper, honey, apricots, porcini and Cherry Heering. The palate is rich and distinctive, with truffled mozzarella, fig jam, chocolate-covered raisins, sandalwood and burnt orange. The finish is short but intense and complex.
