Grave Digger 45 Years of Metal is a heavily peated single malt from St. Kilian Distillers in Germany, released for the 45th stage anniversary of the German metal band Grave Digger. It was distilled from malt peated to 80 ppm and bottled at 49% ABV. It matured for four years in a single ex-Chianti red wine barrique of French oak, and 379 bottles were filled. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered. Aromatic, sweet peat smoke meets ripe red grapes, juicy cherries and peaches on the nose. The palate adds fine vanilla, warming oak spice and a touch of ash.
