Ærø Whisky – Single Cask Cask Strength (65.2%)

This is a single cask whisky from Ærø Whisky, made on the Danish island of Ærø from barley grown in a local field. It is bottled at full cask strength, 65.2% ABV, from a new Oloroso sherry cask, and the whisky is at least three years old. The colour comes naturally from the cask. It is only lightly filtered mechanically and is not chill-filtered, so a slight haze can sometimes appear in the bottle. The distillery describes it as balanced, with sherry, coffee, chocolate and apricot, and as a whisky of intensity and body.
