Akashi Blended is a Japanese blended whisky made by Eigashima Shuzo, combining 30% malt whisky with 70% grain whisky. It matures in bourbon casks and American oak casks, and is bottled at 40% in a 50cl bottle. It is chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose shows malt, fruit and almonds alongside sherry notes, oak, vanilla and a floral hint of chamomile. The palate is round, soft and sweet, with vanilla, malt, oak, spices and fine tannins. The long finish brings sweet fruit, vanilla and oak.
