Akashi Ume is a Japanese blended whisky from Eigashima Shuzo, bottled at 40% in a 50cl bottle. It is made with 30% malted barley and distilled twice in pot stills. The whisky matures in bourbon barrels, then spends several months in Shiratama umeshu casks, which give it its own cask character. It is chill-filtered and has no added colour. Tasting notes describe plum and vanilla on the nose, a full palate of plum, spice and wood, and an elegant finish marked clearly by wood.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
