Amrut – Cask Strength Indian Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 61.8%)

This is an Indian single malt from Amrut, bottled at cask strength, 61.8% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The nose combines bourbon-like notes with rich barley, reminiscent of a caramelised biscuit dipped in coffee, with a touch of spice. On the palate, oak and barley sit closely together with soft oils and a sharp flash of blood orange, followed by something buttery and delicate. The finish is long, with the oak showing bourbon and then buttery character, and a trace of dark sugar and cocoa.
