Amrut Cask Strength Peated is an Indian single malt bottled at 62.8% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is of gristy smoked barley and kippers with salted butter, with a peppery bite. The delivery is youthful, then turns intensely malty before drier oak comes through.
The finish is delicate, with only a light ooze of peat. It brings unsweetened medium-roast Mysore coffee, then a bourbon-like note, soft liquorice and molasses sugar.
