Amrut Cask Strength Peated is an Indian single malt whisky, bottled at 62.8% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is of gristy smoked barley, with kippers in salted butter and a peppery bite. The delivery is youthful at first, then turns intensely malty before a measure of drier oak arrives.
The finish is delicate and elegant, with the peat barely present. Unsweetened medium roast coffee gives way to soft liquorice and molasses sugar.
