Amrut Fusion is an Indian single malt of 50% strength, in a 750ml bottle. It combines 75% unpeated Indian barley whisky with 25% peated Scottish barley whisky.
The whisky is matured in old and new American oak at the Amrut distillery in Bengaluru, which sits at about 3,000 feet above sea level. It is non-chill filtered.
The nose is heavy and oaky, with fruit, chocolate and growing peat. The palate is rich, with oaky vanilla custard and dried fruit, then chocolate fudge and marmalade-like fruit as the smoke arrives. The finish is long and dry, with peat and oak in balance over a molasses sweetness.
