Amrut Fusion XI is an Indian single malt made to mark the 11th anniversary of the original Amrut Fusion. It was released as a tribute to Amrut's late Chairman, Neelakanta Rao Jagdale, in an edition of 1,000 bottles at 50%.
Amrut is based in Bengaluru and was founded in 1948. The original Fusion paired Indian-grown barley with peated Scottish barley; this edition is a blend of different barrels, including bourbon cask and port pipe.
The nose offers dark fruit and coconut cream, opening to vanilla pod, toffee and dark chocolate. The palate is syrupy and velvety with dried fruit, honey and cracked pepper, and the finish is slightly dry with honey.
