Amrut Peated Indian Single Malt Whisky (75cl, 46%)

This is a peated single malt from Amrut, distilled and matured in Bangalore, India. The barley is peated and brought in from Scotland, and the whisky is bottled at 46%. It spends a minimum of four years in oak in Bangalore's tropical climate, where the heat speeds up maturation. The peat level is around 23 PPM. The whisky is bottled without chill filtration or added colour. The nose is delicate and peaty, with earthy tones, warm spice and a hint of fruit. On the palate the peat sits inside smoky, malty weight, with pepper, herbal notes and molasses. The finish is malty, with peat and smoke arriving late and a little oak.
