Amrut Indian Single Malt is an unpeated single malt made by Amrut Distilleries in Bengaluru, India, and bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was launched in Glasgow in 2004 as the first Indian single malt. The whisky is pot-distilled from Indian six-row barley grown in Punjab and Rajasthan and malted in Jaipur and Delhi. It matures in new American oak and ex-bourbon barrels at 3,000 feet, in a tropical climate. Liquorice and bourbon-like sweetness lead the nose, with burnt honeycomb and toffee. The palate is rich in barley and oak sweetness, with molasses sugar and malt depth. The finish is long, ending in cream toffee.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
