Amrut Kadhambam Indian Single Malt Whisky (75cl, 50%)

Amrut Kadhambam is an Indian single malt from Amrut Distilleries in Bangalore, bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Its name is a Tamil word meaning mixture, and the whisky is a vatting of unpeated and peated malts. It is non-chill-filtered, of natural colour and carries no age statement. Both malts are first matured in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, then given a secondary maturation in brandy casks and rum casks. The brandy and rum are both produced at Amrut's own distilleries. The nose is rich and floral, with honey, nuts, new oak, vanilla, citrus and tropical fruit. The palate brings candied fruit, subtle oak and a light dusting of peat with integrated spice, and the finish is warming, dry and long.
