Amrut – Fusion Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 50%)

This is Amrut Fusion, a single malt whisky from India, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The nose is heavily oaked and complex, with barley sugar notes wrapped in soft smoke. On the palate the smoke turns to full peat, alongside a sherry trifle note, oaky vanilla custard and barley fruitiness, before the flavours settle into an intense chocolate fudge middle. The finish brings dry peat and oak, with enough molasses sweetness to carry the malt through, and spices rising towards the end.
