Amrut – Indian Single Malt Whisky

Amrut Single Malt is an Indian single malt whisky made from Indian barley and sold without an age statement. It is gold to pale straw in colour. The nose opens with orange segment and lemon peel, followed by almond or marzipan and a cereal grain note. The palate is light in body and hot at first, though the burn is quick and settles. It is distinctly phenolic, moving into smoked beef jerky, with orange from the nose and a little sweet honey. Woody tones lead to a finish reminiscent of black liquorice.
