Amrut – Intermediate Sherry Cask Strength

This is a cask strength single malt from Amrut Distilleries in Bangalore, India, made from Indian barley grown at the foot of the Himalayas. It is not chill filtered and is bottled in its natural colour. The new make spirit matures first in virgin or ex-bourbon casks. It then spends a further year in Spanish ex-Oloroso sherry butts, and a last period in ex-bourbon casks completes the maturation. The casks rest at 3,000 feet above sea level. The sherry character is subdued.
