Amrut – Naarangi Single Malt

Amrut Naarangi is an Indian single malt whose name is Hindi for orange. It was aged in an ex-oloroso sherry cask seasoned with wine and orange peel. A three year old whisky was then finished in that cask for a further three years, which gives extra orange character. The nose is toasted oak, orange peel, rich sherry, chocolate, mint and cinnamon. The palate has good weight and coats the mouth with chocolate and cinnamon, with orange cake, oak, black pepper and ginger. The finish is extremely long and oily, with cinnamon.
