Amrut – Portonova Indian Single Malt Whisky

Amrut Portonova is an unpeated Indian single malt whisky. It is matured first in new American oak and ex-bourbon barrels, then moved to once-used port pipes brought from Portugal, and finally returned to ex-bourbon casks. The name comes from Portonovo, also called Parangipettai, a town on the east coast of India in Tamil Nadu. The area was under Portuguese control from the 16th to the 18th century.
