Amrut – Single Malts of India Neidhal (70cl, 46%)

Neidhal is the first release in Amrut's Single Malts of India range, a new series created to show some of the lesser-known malts of India. It is bottled at 46% in a 700ml bottle, and only 12,000 bottles were made for the whole world. The name comes from the Neidhal, or coastal region, and the malt is said to take its character from that setting. The nose offers tropical fruit, vanilla, soft phenols and, above all, sea salt. The palate is fruity, with phenols and a touch of iodine, and the finish is phenolic with a little sweet vanilla.
