Amrut – Two Continents 3rd Edition (70cl, 46%)

Amrut Two Continents 3rd Edition is an Indian single malt whisky, bottled at 46% in a 700ml bottle. The barley comes from the north-west of India and is distilled and matured in Bangalore. The whisky is then shipped about 9,000 km to Europe for a further period of maturation in a cooler climate. The nose is suet pudding with some oils and banana milkshake. On the palate, juicy barley, soft fruit and persistent spice sit over a light oiliness and muscovado sugar, with a chocolate milkshake note in the middle. The finish is long, the oak building very slowly while the spices flit about, ending in vanilla.
