A Kentucky straight bourbon from Louisville Distilling Co., bottled at 50% (100 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It meets the bottled-in-bond requirements at cask strength, with no water added.
The mashbill is 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley. Barrels were filled in spring 2018 at a low entry proof of 103. At bottling, 27 of these low-proof barrels were blended with two higher-proof barrels from the same distilling season to reach 100 proof.
The nose has caramelised sugar, vanilla wafers, baked apple and cherry. The palate is honeyed, with stone fruit, buttery caramel and soft oak. The finish is gentle, with honey and toasted grain.
