Angel's Envy Small Batch Rye Finished in French Oak Barrels Limited Release 2025 (75cl, 46%)

Angel's Envy Small Batch Rye Finished in French Oak is a limited 2025 release from the Louisville Distilling Company. The base is a 6.5 year old Kentucky straight rye made with a 95% rye mashbill and 5% malted barley. It then spent a further nine months or more finishing in a combination of first and second fill French oak barrels. It is bottled non-chill-filtered at 46% (92 proof) in a 750ml bottle. The French oak finish gives baking spice, structured tannin and cedar, rather than the heavier vanilla and caramel of American oak. The nose has cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted vanilla, dried orange peel and a faint cedar note. On the palate come black pepper and ginger with caramel, roasted nuts and dry oak. The finish is medium long, with peppery warmth softening into baking spice and oak.
